The West Stafford  Fire Department

was formed by a group of concerned citizens in 1946 to provide fire protection to the village of West Stafford.  The department proudly protects 7500 people living in an area of 35 square miles. We operate out of one main station as well as a cooperative satellite facility with the Stafford Fire Department #1, with a response area ranging from  urban to rural, with an industrial and retail component.  The district is also home to Johnson Memorial Hospital, Evergreen Health Care Center, as well as several schools, churches, a large seasonal camping and recreational facility and the Stafford Motor Speedway.  Steady growth in our area has taken us from about 300 runs in 1995 to projected activity at, or above 1000 calls in 2005.

Our department is a public department and is 100% volunteer.

We have an ISO rating of  9/6
