 Truck 144 is a 1978 Mack/Baker Aerialscope. Built on a Mack CF686 chassis powered by a Mack 300hp Maxidyne diesel and Allison automatic transmission. The Truck went into service in May 2002 after an extensive refurb which included substantial body restoration work, and complete rebuild and certification of the boom.

The truck carries a 75' aerial rated at 1000 pounds tip load with a  4" waterway supplying the master stream (Elkhart gun w/stacked tips ). "144 Truck" carries 201 feet of ground ladders, a 6Kw Onan Diesel generator,assorted pike poles and hooks,forcible entry tools,  a gasoline powered PPV fan, Hondalite 1Kw generator/portable quartz light, K12 saw, VentMaster saw, chain saw, Sawzall, portable lighting, 1000 watts of light at the tip, 2 16"" electric vent fans,26" vent fan, 5 SCBA, 5 spare SCBA bottles, pre-piped breathing air to the tip, Bullard Thermal Imager, chimney fire tools including flue brushes and a Snuffer, high rise pack, Stokes basket, assorted ropes, harnesses and rigging and an assortment of salvage covers and tarps.
Update:  As of 07/01/07, Truck 144 carries a gasoline powered HURST power unit, HURST spreaders and HURST cutters.  Plans are to run Truck 144 as a second unit to auto accidents for extra tools, etc.
This truck formerly and honorably served the Hazardville CT FD as Truck 31.
Truck 144 is one of only 8 aerial devices in Tolland County.
Truck 144 was paid for by the department through fundraisers at no cost to the town.  This piece of apparatus should serve us for at  least the next decade, possibly longer.

Warning is accomplished by a combination of Code 3 and Whelen lighting along with a Federal Q2B mechanical and PA300 electronic siren.  "144  Truck" has both UHF and VHF LoBand radios, allowing communication with various Tolland, Windham and  Hartford County radio systems.

Truck 144 was one of a group of three purchased in 1978. Our truck obviously went to Hazardville, one of the sisters going to the 8th Utilities District FD  in Manchester, CT, and the third unit went out-of-state
